24 November 2011

  1. Committee page updated due to Matt Porter resigning president's position and the vice president Peter Evans taking on the role until an election is held. An election was held at the club meeting held on 23 November 2011 where Peter Evans was voted in as president and Max Rowan was elected vice president until the next elections due in July 2012.

21 November 2011

  1. Added entry to the Links page under Commercial - Hobby Retailers for Hobby Headquarters.
  2. Committee page updated due to Matt Porter resigning president's position and the vice president Peter Evans taking on the role until an election is held.
  3. Updated Meetings page - Meetings are now being held back at the field over the warmer months and during daylight saving.

    Added a menu at the top of the page to jump to the named section. To aid navigation, clicking on the blue section heading takes you back to the top of the page.
    Added link to Hooked-On-RC-Airplanes.com. (BRMFC received a request from the author of the web site to add a link on our site.)
  2. Revised the Tips 4 Beginners page. (Still needs more work.)

  2. On the Links page under Commercial, the entries have been broken up into three section for clarity.
  3. Added page bottom & page top navigation arrows in the menu bar and page footer. Clicking in a blank area of both sections also navigates up & down.
  4. Increased the width of all pages to the maximum that will fit on a 1024 display without horizontal scrolling.

  1. Uploaded archived newsletters to web site - back to June 1999. (membership lists etc. were removed from a few old newsletters before posting online)
  2. Redesigned the Newsletters page to display archived newsletters.

  1. Further modified Joining the Club, Step 1 on the Joining the Club page. Added link to MAAA policy relating to visitor insurance and raised the number of visits from two to four to comply with the policy.

  3. Updated the How to Join page. Joining process is now described as three steps rather than two stages.

  1. The Contact Us page has been enhanced with the facility to send emails directly to club representatives.
  2. The Committee page now displays the club's domain email addresses for committee members. These BRMFC email addresses are automatically forwarded on to the incumbents' preferred email address.

  1. Web site now hosted by aspwebhosting.com.au and our new domain name www.brmfc.org.au (www is not necessary) delegated. The former site was www.startek.com.au/brmfc.
  2. The new host will provide a more reliable service and better performance.

  1. Minor change to the flying field location page. Updated distance from railway line to Spreadeagle Road using GPS data (5.2km). Mentioned that the 'Spreadeagle Road' road sign is stencilled on the culvert.
  2. Minor correction to 2010/2011 membership payment form. Enable Club/VMAA fee components to be itemized in tear off receipt. Refined the senior/junior definition so it agrees exactly with the VMAA definition in item 3 of the Club /SIG Re-Affiliation Procedure.
  3. Upated the membership page to refine senior/junior definition.

  1. Modified the period that the CFA (Country Fire Authority) Total Fire Ban RSS Feed displays on the home page. This now displays from mid November through to mid April. (Dates can be changed easily by a data file to take current weather conditions into consideration.)

  1. Enable user to select Now & Forecast weather display to supplement the existing Now (current) weather feed.
  2. Display in all page headers, the date/time web server sends page to user. The time is either Australian Eastern Standard Time (AEST), GMT +1000 or Australian Eastern Daylight Saving Time (AEDT), GMT +1100.
  3. Updated link to revised MAAA 2.4GHz policy in FAQs page.
  4. Added CFA (Country Fire Authority) Total Fire Ban RSS Feed to home page. This will display during the fire danger period of November through to April.
  5. Explicitly set the tooltip of the 'rotating' image on the home page using the alternate text. Some browsers do display alternate text as tooltip. (IE8 doesn't unless in compatibility mode.)
  6. Web site now uses and requires .NET 3.5 framework to support AJAX features planned for the future.

  1. The side menu may be optionally displayed as a tree menu instead of pop outs by checking the checkbox adjacent to the heading Main Menu. This setting is preserved if first-party cookies are enabled in your browser settings. When displayed as a tree menu the nodes are automatically expanded down to the current page.
  2. Added the ARF Scale Competition Results page to the side menu and created an ARF Sub Menu on the ARF Scale Comp pages.
  3. FAQs page has comment added at the bottom relating to unanswered questions.
